With Dr. Rainer Schmidt as the medical director, PROLASYS® has an experienced urological surgeon with special competence and experience in the area of endoscopic laser treatment of BPH. Dr. Schmidt has been a surgeon at Michaelis Hospital over a period of 16 years. Even as an intern during his last phase of training as an urologist in 1986, he began gaining experience with the Neodym:YAG laser at the clinics in Dortmund. In his 16 years' experience as a surgeon, he is one of the few urologists who sought an alternative, minimal invasive therapy for treating BPH.

So it is only natural, that in those years he always offered his patients the newest laser methods, lastly ILC (Interstitial Laser Coagulation).
